Who we are
ParlerQC is an online training course preparing for the oral French exam (TEFAQ/TCF Québec).
Person in charge of personal information protection
[Title of the responsible person + generic email to be completed — see BOOTSTRAP.md. By default, under Law 25, the person with the highest authority in the company assumes this responsibility, unless delegated in writing.]
What information we collect
- Email, when you request the free guide, buy the training, or contact us.
- Payment information, processed directly by Stripe — ParlerQC neither sees nor retains your card number.
- Voice recordings, only if you choose the automated feedback option, and only after your explicit consent given on the relevant page.
- Browsing data (cookies), only essential cookies by default; additional audience-measurement tools are enabled only after your consent via the banner displayed on the site.
Why we collect it
To give you access to the content requested, process your purchase, generate your feedback (if requested), and send you the communications you have consented to (free guide, welcome sequence, communications related to your purchase). We never sell your information.
Voice recordings (feedback option)
If you use the automated feedback option, your oral answers are transcribed and analyzed to produce written feedback, then deleted after 30 days at the latest. We handle voice data with caution, as potentially sensitive information, even though this precise status is not explicitly confirmed by the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) at the time this page was written.
Transfers outside Québec
Some of the technical tools used (payment processing, text-to-speech, transcription, feedback artificial intelligence) may be hosted outside Québec. A privacy impact assessment (PIA) is required before any such data is communicated outside Québec, in accordance with Law 25 — this assessment will be completed before these tools are actually activated (see BLOCKERS.md).
Cookies and consent
No non-essential cookie nor advertising pixel is active by default. A banner lets you accept or decline the activation of privacy-respecting audience-measurement tools. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to [generic email to be completed].
Retention period
- Email and purchase history: kept as long as necessary for the service and legal obligations (e.g., accounting).
- Voice recordings: 30 days maximum, then automatic deletion.
